PROTEST: Hampden County P & F Court, Springfield
January 21, 2003, Hampden County chapter
Dear Precious Dads & Supporters:
Our protest at the Hampden Division Probate & Family Court, Springfield was a great success. We had a total of eight people in attendance, peaking at six as some came and went. It was a 1.5 hour demonstration in Arctic-like weather as judges drove by in their yuppie cars with heated seats ironically looking frozen as they stared straight ahead.
We had hot coffee on site, new signs and lots of support from the public. A police officer stopped, honked and thanked us for our volunteerism... cause that's what it's all about. Several participants continued our fellowship over breakfast at a local diner.
We will build momentum with several series of early morning protestsculminating with a larger Fathers' Day rally. Also, there will be a fewafternoon demonstrations intermingled with each series with well-plannedmedia coverage.
A sincere thanks to those who helped make this event a success.
