CPF protests War on Fatherhood

Rotman 'honored' as worst judge in nation

Fathers advocates celebrated Father's Day early by staging a rally outside the Worcester courthouse on Thursday, June 12.

CPF - The Fatherhood Coalition chose two themes: to protest what they refer to as a War on Fatherhood being waged by family courts across the nation, and to "honor" three New England judges for their appearance in the list of the ten worst family court judges in the nation. A national panel of father's advocates that solicited input from activists across the nation selected the judges.

Heading the list, Massachusetts Worcester family court Arline Rotman took top honors. Judge Edward Ginsberg of Middlesex was voted sixth worst. The 'Roo awards for the judges, statuette trophies with kangaroo figurines, were accepted by proxy.

According to Shrock, we have become a nation of adult children. "Rights, responsibilities, and consequences," are the three aspects of maturity required to enter society as an adult citizen. Feminists have insisted on the first - rights - but are unwilling to accept the remaining two.

Accepting the top award for Rotman was Worcester's own Terry Meehan. Vermont professor Gladden Shrock accepted the award for Maine Judge Crowley, voted seventh worst in the nation. Shrock was the keynote speaker for Day of Contrition held in Cambridge in April for the state's witchhunt victims, the Amiraults. Shrock spoke eloquently on the need to widen the camera lens focus to better understand the roots of anti-male persecution.

The rally was part of a nationwide effort by advocates to hammer home the message that fathers are no longer willing to come to the courts as supplicants. We insist on change, and we intend to take this issue to the streets and force the subservient press to break the conspiracy of silence surrounding the most important single issue of our time.
