The Governor's Inquisition

Earl Henry Sholley

I recently caught a glimpse of the new millennium at a meeting of the Governor's Commission on Domestic Violence. Shades of Gaia goddess! Is this what is meant by equity feminism - 24 female and 7 male members to set domestic violence policy?

This politically expedient brainchild is the result of pandering to public safety paranoia, and radical feminists who are bent on punishing every man they can to make up for eons of alleged oppression by the patriarchy. Like the Temperance Unions of yore, they are intoxicated with a compelling social agenda and their own self-righteousness.

The truth is history. The new line is herstory. These radical feminists don't care about suspending due process and other constitutional rights for men to suit their agenda. Their mantra is "women do not lie and only men abuse."

The Governor's Inquisition is suppressing all male heretics and devising new forms of punishment for the 'abusive patriarchy.'

At one meeting, it was said that there are rarely any abuses in the system. One male judge said there were so few aberrances that it was insignificant. We used to believe that it was better to let ten guilty people go free than to have one innocent person suffer. We have reversed that priority with domestic violence. All men are now viewed as potential rapists or batterers. The courts have become the handmaiden of this despicable process. The Governor's Inquisition is suppressing all male heretics and devising new forms of punishment for the abusive patriarchy.

There appeared some hope for sanity when a guest legislator mentioned that many of his colleagues have expressed some concerns about due process. However, any optimism was quickly dashed when comments were made about the "coming backlash," incantations of "denial," urgings to "stay the course," and a challenge to implement new sanctions. One woman said that we should not muck up existing legislation. Muck is defined by Webster as "moist manure."

Truth ... finally!

The general consensus of the members seemed to be one of dismay that anyone would challenge or even consider bringing this wonderful agenda under public scrutiny. Don't confuse us with the facts, they say. We haven't finished implementing our agenda.
