From: Michael Hathaway Organization: Western New England College Subject: Good News From Paul Trimboli Greetings: Good News: State Senator Linda Melconian has filed a bill on Paul's behalf on the Senate side that would allow non-custodial parents to deduct court ordered child support from their gross income. This bill was also filed for Paul by Keenen on the House side a short while back which is in Rules and Regulations. Call your Reps and Senators and express your position on this bill. The status of the Jacques/Cohen bill is that Jacques and Clancy are assigned to make some compromise and have it sent back to the House. Be prepared to launch and all out effort to petition for repeal if it becomes Law. Also note that a political approach to sell this bill has been suggested by Jacques in a public statement. Jacques has indicated that a 209A restraining order would NOT trigger the mandatory loss of custody(present or future). That is a lie. The definitions that describe a 209A are also used in the Jacques/Cohen bill. They are the same/related. Call your politicians and make them work for you; for our children's sake.
